Here is a FAQ about my private practice specializing in American English for Grades 6-12:

Our first session comprises a comprehensive series of diagnostics in reading comprehension, writing, grammar foundations, and vocabulary to help me determine your child’s language knowledge and strengths and where to focus our efforts for enrichment. Then, every session is personalized to strengthen your child’s confidence and English mastery.

Meetings are private, 1-to-1, once a week, remote via my private Zoom room, with homework in the interim. For security, all sessions are recorded and saved on my private secure hard drive only, not in the cloud.

Required study materials include a computer device with a keyboard and the current Zoom app, #2 pencils, an eraser, and lined paper or notebook for writing. A printer is useful for downloading pdf study materials as we go along.

Tuition rate is $60 an hour for personalized weekly tutoring and $100 an hour for college essay assistance. For grades 6-8, each session is 1.5 hours with a short break in the middle. For grades 9-12, sessions are 2 hours.

Payment is monthly and due on or before the first session of each month. As payment, I accept PayPal and Zelle, and I email you an invoice prior to the beginning of each month.

If you need to cancel or postpone a scheduled lesson, I require 24 hours notice prior to lesson time to avoid the tuition charge of one session. With appropriate notice, any unused tuition is carried over to the next month.

Depending on the tutoring services you request, your child may also need a vocabulary workbook and a grammar workbook which cost $72. I provide most other resource materials and assign and review homework in every session.

I gladly provide references. My students have been accepted to attend Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Yale, Harvard, NYU, Columbia, University of Virginia, Mason Gross School of the Arts, University of Wisconsin, Rutgers, Carnegie Mellon, Pitt, Fordham, Wake Forest, Rensselaer Polytechnic, Georgia Tech, University of Texas Austin, Brown, University of Pennsylvania, Dartmouth, Rice, UCLA, Cal Poly, Duke, and Brooklyn Law School among other prestigious colleges.
