Linda Lanza practices and teaches expressive writing arts as ways for hearts to communicate, find meaning through imagination, and preserve memories and milestones with handwritten documents. In her studio, Talk With My Hands, Linda makes art, writes, and hosts the weekly INKWINGS WRITING ADVENTURE online, now in its second year. She holds a degree in English Literature with highest honors from Rutgers University. Post graduate work includes 440 hours of training with Dr. Sherry Reiter, RPT for her credential as a therapeutic writing specialist.

Linda is author of three books of poems and recipient of the National Association for Poetry Therapy’s Distinguished Service Award for her work as creative director and editor of The Museletter. She classically trained in calligraphy and painting with Mary Lou Cook, Dick Beasley, Jenny Hunter Groat, Thomas Ingmire, Karlgeorg Hoefer, Jacqueline Svaren, David Mekelburg, Peter Thornton and many others. She is left-handed.

For over 30 years Linda’s award-winning work has been published and exhibited including Off the Cuffs, Mosaic, Pudding 34, The Artful Letter calendars published by Universe Press, Letter Arts Review, the Richard Beasley National Invitational Exhibition, Caligraphia USA/USSR in Russia, and INCIPIT Circolo Calligrafia Italiana in Trieste, Italy. For 18 years, she taught the Calligraphy Workshop as a faculty member of Princeton Adult School.

When she is not teaching or writing, Linda enjoys listening to music, reading, making calligraphic art, fiber arts, cooking, and walking outdoors. She has three children and one grandchild. Linda resides in New Jersey in a home filled with books and two cats halfway between a river and an ocean.
