Inkwings workshops are structured to meet the needs of the specific individual or group. Programs are available for general wellness, women’s issues, men’s issues, chronic illness, eating disorders, trauma support, grief, depression, life transitions, and stress relief.

Writing therapy is an empowering, effective wellness strategy. Research shows that when people write their deep thoughts and feelings about their experiences, they gain a more positive outlook, feel a general sense of well-being, and their bodies are better able to fight infection. Therapeutic writing cleanses body and soul.

Please inquire to discuss how writing therapy can complement your social, spiritual, educational, recreational, and therapeutic activities.

DEVICES & DESIRES: Writing Your Own Words for Calligraphy, Mixed-Media and Book Arts
Words belong to everybody. The combinations and arrangements into lines make them mean something original and personal. Do you want to write your own words? In this workshop you will explore dozens of poetic devices as techniques to reveal how form generates content. You will play with poetry’s key elements -- imagery and rhythm -- and learn how to express them verbally. In the process, you will discover that language is a pliable, living substance full of surprises that can be mined and shaped into a personal voice of wit, memory and celebration. Beginners welcome.

— Victor Hugo

From the twenty-six letters we can reach any point. Some combination of those letters will spell out any detail of human reality that we can notice, and any new reality can be accommodated within those same letters.

Creative activity combats anxiety, inspires generativity, and restores a sense of hope. In this workshop, poems, word games, music, pictures, historical events, and symbolic treasures act as catalysts for well-being through creative engagement. The self-directed and personal-choice aspects of my approach protects their dignity and empowers people to express strong emotions, reclaim forgotten memories, bear difficult circumstances, and complete some of life’s unfinished business.
